What is as-directed hourly car service?
As-directed service means you’re booking a driver for a set number of hours rather than a single trip. The driver stays with you throughout the booking, waiting at each stop and moving with you as your day unfolds. You direct where to go — they handle the driving.
What is the minimum booking for hourly service?
Our minimum is 5 hours, at $85 per hour. That brings the minimum total to $425. This minimum applies regardless of whether you end up using all five hours.
Is there a mileage charge in addition to the hourly rate?
No. With hourly service, you pay the hourly rate — mileage is included. This is one of the advantages of hourly over multiple point-to-point bookings if your day involves a lot of driving.
What if I need the driver for longer than originally planned?
Not a problem. If your day runs long, additional hours are billed at the same $85/hour rate. Just let your driver know you’d like to extend, and we’ll handle the billing adjustment.
Can I use hourly service for airport pickups combined with other stops?
Absolutely — and this is actually a very common use case. For example: LAX airport pickup, then to the hotel, then to two meetings, then to dinner, then back to the hotel. Booking as-directed for the full duration is often more efficient than breaking it into separate trips.
What kinds of vehicles are available for hourly bookings?
We have a 2025 Chevrolet Suburban, 2022 Chevrolet Suburban, 2026 Chevrolet Traverse, and 2019 Lincoln MKT. For groups needing more than one vehicle, we can coordinate multiple cars.
Do you offer same-day hourly bookings?
We do our best to accommodate same-day requests depending on availability. Advance booking — especially for full days — is always recommended.
Is service available in Spanish?
Yes. JM Transportation Services is fully bilingual in English and Spanish. Our team can assist you from booking through the end of your trip in whichever language you prefer.
What's your cancellation policy?
Free cancellation is available up to 24 hours before your scheduled start. Cancellations within 24 hours may be subject to a fee.
